I continued the 2023 Summerizm Sessions mix series with a colorful dubstep selection focusing on the use of musical elements from various cultures in dubstep. Dubstep is one of the most wonderful genres, as you can interpret almost any other musical style with it. In addition to the most common Jamaican reggae motifs, musical motifs from Middle Eastern, Far Eastern and South American countries are often used in dubstep music, but I also found dubstep with French vocals and the Hungarian folk music transcription is were included in the selection.
